ABOUT US
Polwarth Design has been a part of the Northland fashion scene since 1985. It was founded by Karen Matich and Cheryl Polwart who opened retail stores in Dargaville and Whangarei, providing quality, up-market clothing options for New Zealand women.
In March 2024, Mandy Allen purchased Polwarth Design Whangarei after working with the girls part-time for the previous two and a half years. Mandy has a unique connection with Polwarth Design. Her mother Deirdre Dewhurst modeled for them for many years in various Northland fundraising fashion parades. She was a treasured customer and an avid supporter of Polwarth Design Dargaville for many years.
Mandy feels a great affiliation with the store as it connects her to her mother. She has continued the tradition of making it a family affair and operates the Whangarei Store with her daughter Sarah.
Sarah & I are committed to supporting our valued customers by continuing to provide clothing by talented NZ and off-shore designers giving the shore a unique stance in the community.
